Chartier

Eclectic is my favourite word, next to food. And when you first walk into Chartier in Beaumont, AB you are greeted by the most wholesome feelings. Mismatched meets patina in this gorgeous restaurant to give you a generous welcome for each of your senses. It was truly magnificent and I would hire them to decorate my entire life if I could.

Now the food. I have but one word. Wow. It tasted like home. The warm fullness in my stomach which sat empty for most of the day was exactly what I needed. It felt like I was a child again; going to my grandmas for dinner and going hungry in anticipation for familiar flavours.

Very well done, back of house. Your chicken pot pie was perfectly executed. Your puff pastry was delicate with just the right amount of crunch. Oh and that filling. The balance of flavours left me wanting more.

But it was the mushroom risotto that stole my Heart. I would marry a plate if I could. And trust me, I am inclined to do so. Your mushrooms were perfectly cooked with a briney, earthy flavour that conducted a symphony for my tastebuds.

The servers are all so kind. I didn’t spot a single one that didn’t truly enjoy where they worked. They brightened up the dim, soft lighting with wonderful smiles and their cheery dispositions. Clearly management is doing something very well.

Overall, I would definitely go back again. Especially for my new lover: the risotto.
